Beth Fisher

Twenty-six moments from the artist’s life illustrating the universal experience of being human.
As *Hotshot’s birthday gift to Beth we’ve extended her one-night event comprised of a multimedia series of 8×10 photos partnered with handwritten poems into a one-week show!

Fisher explains, “Each of us surrounds ourselves with secrets. Some are smaller than others; some keep us safe and some cause us pain. Fear of honesty and vulnerability are nearly universal, I think. But in the past few years, I’ve seen that speaking a secret out loud can be a source of great freedom.”
“Looking through my collections of poetry and photography, I paired pieces in a desire to add meaning, connecting the story of each poem to a more universal image. In each case, I feel confident that the photos are more interesting in light of the poems, and that the poems read more powerfully in partnership with a photograph.”
